The Osprey, an "American Fish Eagle"

A little rest is not only welcome, but essential.
Below me is the new Lake and portaging everything downhill
is almost as difficult as
dragging all that's needed uphill.

Way off, in the distance, I see the nest of an Osprey.
High up in a dead tree, and
off to the left, the owner, or occupant of this nest
is drawing lazy circles.

The 400 mm tele lens shows Mamma
watching over two Osprey youngsters.
One of them trying out his/her wings to see
if they work the same as Mom's and Dad's.

"Where is Dad?"
Mom scans the horizon.
He's 'gone fishing' and should be home by now.
Mom and the kids are getting hungry.

Here he comes with a big, fat Carp in his claws.
He's just the best provider among Osprey Dads.

Success !
