Arowhon Pines

When Glad came with me to Africa, she came under the condition that she would sleep in a proper bed (no 'mosy-tent for her), have her meals prepared by somebody else and that she would "do no dishes".
When I convinced Christin to come with me to Algonquin Park she came under three conditions:
She would sleep in a proper bed, (no tent for her) have meals prepared by somebody else and that she would "do no dishes".
Isn't it peculiar? Women can be so different and yet, they can be so very much the same.
So, from Toronto we drove about 250 km in a northerly direction and ensconced ourselves at the only Lodge, deep in the Park, "Arowhon Pines."
It is difficult, nay, impossible to describe this place. I suggest that if you have not yet been there, pack your bags and treat yourself to the most marvelous vacation you will ever have.

At the entrance to Arowhon Pines,
the 'Maple Leaf ' waves proudly in  the breeze.

The Lodge is on the shore of  Little Joe Lake.
Christin checks 'the lay of the land'.

One of the buildings reflecting in 'Little Joe'.

The Octagonal Dining Room

The 'rustic elegance' of the Living room.

"You really want to go out there on the first afternoon?"
"Sure, we'll just do a little exploratory paddle
to the end of Little Joe"

We meet our first Loon and our first Moose-Cow.

There will be much more to come.
