There is another Anagram:

would you believe that the simple title:

Valentine's poems

becomes:

Pen mates in love.

ANAGRAMS

What is an ANAGRAM?
I've had it 'up to here' with puns. For a little while anyway.
So let's try it with a few of the above mentioned.
There are, to the best of my knowledge, two types of Anagrams. The easier one is the one where one constructs a new word or a new sentence out of all the letters of an existing word or sentence, irrespective of the meaning of the second creation.
The second and rarer one consist of the construction of a word or a sentence, out of the letters of the existing word or sentence, but, and that's a big But, the new creation must have the same or similar meaning as the original one.
Have I now confused you totally?
So let's look a an example of the second kind.
The letters of the word: "ASTRONOMERS" can be re-arranged to read: "MOON STARERS." You get it? Astronomers: Moon starers
or an other good one:
"CLOTHESPINS" can be arranged to "SO; LET'S PINCH" -
So, come up with some of those Anagrams.

So much hatred!

And then there was Auschwitz!

I was going to write about something else.
Then I heard that this day was the day in 1945, when Russian Forces came upon and liberated surviving inmates of this Concentration Camp.
To explain the atrocities with which Nazi Germany operated this and several other camps of like nature, is almost impossible.

The brutal statistics of Auschwitz can be summarized as follows:
Approximate total number of prisoners brought there over the years of its existence: 1,300,000
Survivors 200,000 which allows the conclusion that in this Camp alone some 1,100,000 were put to death in a variety of ways.
Most were gassed and incinerated, many were shot, beaten to death, and allowed to die through starvation.
The bestial nature of those in charge was shown during the “Wannsee Conference”, where, among other issues, the expensive manner of execution by shooting, was replaced by the cheaper method of Gassing and Incineration. This conference was, however, mostly concerned with the cooperation of varying Nazi institutions, so that the extermination of Jews and other “unproductive” members of Society could be done efficiently.

At the recent memorial celebration of the date of liberation of this Camp, and as a comment about rising antisemitism, Germany's President Steinmeier said: “The evil ghosts present themselves today in new clothing.”

When persons out of their abysmal ignorance or out of deliberate denial
refer derogatorily about “Die Juden”

How can that be?

I was fined 100 Euros, because the police claimed that my dog was chasing a man on a bike.
Totally ridiculous, I said to the Judge. My dog doesn't even know how to ride a bike.

Hey, Guys, Get Your Act Together

What an interesting development inside the most ridiculous Organization.

First, the newly appointed Bishop of Carinthia says the abolition of the Celibate would be a good idea, since then the priests would know “what happens in real life” and aging Priests would not feel so alone and abandoned.
The very next day, (he must have had a call from Pope Franciscus), he made a turn-about, speaking out for the Celibate, since, he now suggested, it was, after all, the way Christ chose to live and an unmarried Priest could devote more time to his Flock, since he would not need to worry about his wife and family.
..or words to this effect.

Franciscus seems to vacillate a bit himself. The number of Priests in certain regions of South America appears to be in decline and allowing Priests to be married would certainly help to re-stock this group.

Now comes the former Pope, Benedict XVI, he who resigned his Papacy “for Health Reasons,” who, together with Cardinal Robert Sarah of Guinea, just wrote a book.             ( doesn't everybody write a book nowadays?) in which it is reported, that he proclaims the validity and necessity of the Celibate.
Since I have not yet read this book, ( and likely never will ) I shall refrain from any additional comment.

News Agencies report, however, that Messers Ratzinger and Sarah in their publication: “From the Depth of Our Hearts” issue warnings for the church not to accept “Bad and Theatrical Involvements, Diabolical Lies and Trendy Errors.
They further suggest, that this constant questioning of the Celibate, is confusing for the Clergy.

Mr. Ratzinger, also formerly known as Pope Benedict XVI might be better off keeping his earlier promise to “remain hidden from the World” spending his remaining days in a Vatican Monastery.

Having read about Mr. Ratzinger's history,
Bertstravels thinks he should do so.
