In Collingwood

A bout 200 km North of Toronto is the small, but history laden community of Collingwood.
This is where my old friend Andy makes his home now, spending 3 days in his office in Toronto and 4 days in his home in Collingwood. He says that, given modern systems of communication, Internet, Fax, Scanning of documents, which he can even sign electronically  and I-phone he can efficiently operate his Insurance Brokerage from his boat, his home in C. or his office in T.
So, do you blame him when he says: "Retire?  Why should I retire, when I have a deal like this going for myself."
So, Andy and his lovely wife Doreen enjoy life just outside Collingwood.

as lovely inside as outside.

and the boat attached to it.

Collingwood is on the South shore of Georgian Bay,
which is part of Lake Huron.
The bay by itself is as large as Lake Ontario.

This is "Bird Island" with a dilapidated light tower at one end.
I remember this island from a visit there many many years ago,
when it was a densely forested piece of land with literally thousands and thousands of
Cormorants, Herons and Cranes nesting in its trees.
What in hell happened here ? I asked Andy.
His dry answer: "The birds killed almost all the vegetation: They shit a lot."

Cormorants still sitting on the branches of dead trees.

Full Speed Ahead.

"Wasaga Beach", at 14 km in length, said to be the longest Sweet Water Beach in the world.

goes elsewhere, where the water is deeper
and you can dive off rocks.
