Up the "Kömmel" and down again.

Now and then, some sunny afternoon I jump into my car and drive just "up the Kömmel"
Within about 300 meters from our house, the Kömmel rises.
A farm here and a week-end house there.
Every time there is something New to discover.

Beethoven must have been there when he composed his
"Symphony No. 6 !"

Wild Apple trees, with small apples galore. Actually not too bad to chomp away at.

I'm not sure whether they are "Rowanberries" or " Mountain Ash".
"Vogelbeeren"( Birdberries) is what the Austrian call them.

Here a farm and there a Village.
If you want to be alone, that's the place to go.

How would you like to live in this farm?
Steep slopes and woods all around you.
Great for a week or two, but then, boredom would drive me crazy.

The Village of St. Margarethen.
Not more than 10 houses, a farm here and another one over there.
There is no school, no hospital, no bakery, no butcher store,
no Grocery store, NO Nothing...
Sorry, there is, of course, a church.

 Didn't I tell you?
10 houses and a Church.
