Market of the Meadow

About two weeks ago I showed some pictures about the build-up of the "Bleiburg Wiesenmarkt"
(the Market of the Meadow.)
Well, it finally came to the opening of this 623 year old festival.
Yesterday. a seemingly never ending procession wound its way down the Main Square,                       ( 10. Oktoberplatz ) lead by the Mayor and several other dignitaries, followed by  brass bands and delegates from many neighboring communities.
Most of them were dressed in traditional costumes, which are carefully preserved from year to year, only to be brought out on very special occasions.
Let's have a look at this opening parade:

Prof. Arthur Ottowitz, (town master) 2nd from left
and  Stefan Visocnik ( Mayor ) 3rd from left,
lead the Parade, followed by Marching Bands
and Delegations from many other communities.
