Yesterday we drove over the Karawanken Mountains to get to Llubliyana in Slovenia, a part of the former Jugoslavia. We were invited to attend a concert there, given by the String Section of the Llubliana Symphony Orchestra. Over never ending hairpin curves with chasms threatening on one side and rock face on the other, we made our way accross the Karawanken Mountains to Llubliyana.
What a lively town this is. All along the river, I believe it is the Ljubljanica, but I really don't remember what the natives call it, there were stands from which people tried to sell everything imaginable.
From beautiful carvings to jewellery, to absolute junk....
Blue skies and temperatures in the low 20s made for a lovely stroll along this bargain filled treasure hunt.
Christin bought a 6x6 tile, beautifully decorated. I go with what somebody else said: "I refuse to buy other people's junk."
All in all it was a wonderful excursion.
