The Hamlet of Port Albert

Some animals do it to perfection.
Some birds, when they want to be noticed by a female of their species, blow up their colourful neck feathers to make themselves look bigger, more attractive and therefore more desirable.
Lions, sometimes, when they are about to approach their chosen love, shake their heads vigorously to make the hair of their mane fly out and thereby also give themselves a larger and more powerful look.
People do it: Both sexes decorate themselves with baubles and beads, the male engages in strenuous exercises to develop bigger muscles, thereby appearing more desirable as a partner and as the protective  father of their children. When he meets a new female, he most definitely pulls in his stomach.
In short: We all show off a little.
Here is the Hamlet of Port Albert.
I do not know how many houses it harbours within its borders. Maybe ten ?
This, however, is how it advertises itself:

Situated on the shores of Lake Huron,
Port Albert  welcomes you with this lovely sign.

To make certain that the visitor will not get lost
in the maze of its single street
this sign leaves no doubt that we are dealing here
with someplace remarkable.

Here is the "Downtown Shopping":
The Port Albert General Store

And here we have the "Downtown Accommodation"
The Port Albert Inn.

Now, all of this is surely worthy of the three part directional sign
as shown above.
I went into the General Store. The Lady who showed me the nicely displayed merchandise could not possibly have been more courteous or nicer when she proudly announced
that hers is 'the only store' hereabouts.
I walked into the "downtown accommodation" but could not find anyone in the richly decorated common room.

Bertstravels
loved "downtown Port Albert"
which must be the area between the General Store and the Inn.
