Some miscellaneous, interesting Images

Are all Toronto cops this friendly ?
Probably not.
But these three, the third one lent his cap, but is out of the picture,
surely would win the prize !

"The Maid of the Mist VII"
approaches Niagara Falls
and only the blue rain-ponchos keep the customers dry.
(They got 'soaked' when they bought the tickets)

Street musicians in Stratford.
They played Vivaldi's "Four Seasons"

In Goderich, on the shores of Lake Huron
Years ago it started with one.
Now there are hundreds of these stone markers.

Toronto Skyline

No words required

Bertstravels
played around a bit

On the 'Yankee Lady 4'

When Andy does something, he does it right!
Last evening he invited about 100 of his clients and friends to a party on board of the 'Yankee Lady 4'.
The drinks were plentiful, the food delicious, the music fantastic and the back drop, well how can you top the sky line of Toronto, as seen from the lake.
I would like to know how Andy got all these buildings to turn their lights on. Even the CN Tower was lit up in colour.
So, let's have a look at some of the pictures I took

Here she lies: The 'Yankee Lady 4'
Unfortunately I could not take her picture while at sea,
because I was on board.

Toronto's sky line as seen from the harbour.

Low hanging clouds give a dark appearance, even in late afternoon.
The white semi circle is the 'Rogers Centre'
Toronto's football and baseball stadium, seating, if I remember well, about 50,000 spectators.

The flag hanging from the stern of Yankee Lady
tells us clearly: This is Canada !

Part of the host's family.

...from the inlet of Center Island.

and
Night falls.

had a great time and thanks Andy.

Fun with words

The Washington Post used to have a yearly contest, challenging its readers to take a word from the dictionary and delete, add, or change only one letter and write a definition for this new word.
Here are some of the best ones:
Intoxication = Intaxication: Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which lasts until you realize it was your money to start with.

Reincarnation: = Reintarnation: Coming back to life as a hillbilly.

Graffiti = Giraffiti: Vandalism painted very very high.

Sarcasm = Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who does not get it.

and the winner is: (drumroll)

Ignoramus = Ignoranus: A person who is both stupid and an asshole.

Bertstravels
would love to have thought them up himself

NIAGARA FALLS

They are certainly older than the EX.
They are even older than the Bleiburg Wiesenmarkt.
They connect Lake Erie with Lake Ontario.
They are the biggest tourist attraction... and
They are pretty impressive.
They are: The Niagara Falls !

The 'Maid of the Mist' slowly approaches the Canadian Falls.
The "Horseshoe Falls"

The American side of Niagara Falls

There is always spray.

The World has come to see the Falls

The Ex...

Just a few more pix of the EX

The cable cars which take you the entire length of the EX
and which I took to obtain the pictures below.

Because it was early in the day, nobody was tired
and these colourful benches remained empty.

Directional signs make sure you don't get lost.

The Canadian National Exhibition : for short: The CNE

Exhibition Place is a mixed-use district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, by the shoreline of Lake Ontario, just west of downtown. The 197-acre (80 ha) site includes exhibit, trade, and banquet centres, theatre and music buildings, monuments, parkland, sports facilities, and a number of civic, provincial, and national historic sites. From mid-August through Labour Day each year, the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), from which the name Exhibition Place is derived, is held on the grounds. During the CNE, Exhibition Place encompasses 260 acres (1.1 km2), expanding to include nearby parks and parking lots. The CNE features games and a midway, among a host of attractions. The fair is one of the largest and most successful of its kind in North America, and an important part of the culture of Toronto, the province, and the nation itself. The grounds have seen a mix of protection for heritage buildings along with new development.
Five buildings on the site (the Fire Hall/Police Station, Government Building, Horticulture Building, Music Building and Press Building), all designed by George Gouinlock, were designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1988.[1][2]
The above is a 'copy and paste' effort from 'Wickepedia.
There would be much more to tell about the "CNE", or as it is colloquially known: The Ex:
We just have to be satisfied with a few pictures. Better still: Go there !

The ' Princes Gate' main entrance to the Ex.

I took the 'Sky Ride' which takes you the entire length of the area
and allows for good photography from a high perch.

These hats ? why are they here ?
I just liked the looks of them.
