Das "Blochziagn" ist ein alter Brauch, der immer noch von den jungen (und einige nicht so jungen) Maennern gepflegt wird. Mit Pferd und Karren werden die Baumstaemme in die Ortschaft gebracht, wo sie dann an Ort und Stelle in kurze Stuecke gesaegt, und dann an ledige Frauen um teures Geld (10.00 Euros) verkauft werden. Ob dieses Stueck Holz auch einen zukuenftigen Ehemann anzulocken imstande ist, konnte ich leider nicht erruieren.
Ich kann nur beweisen, dass das so erworbene Geld von diesen Maennern so bald als moeglich in Spirituosen verwandelt wird.
Am Faschindienstag, der Tag an dem dieser Brauch ausgefuehrt wird, schneite es grosse Flocken. Am Hauptplatz wurde getanzt und Wein und Bier gab's in Menge.
The "Pulling of the Logs" is an old custom, still practiced by young men. With "horse and cart" the logs are brought to town, where they are cut into small pieces. Each such short piece of wood is then sold to all the unmarried women in the community. If this wood has indeed the capacity to attract a marriage-willing man, I could not determine with certainty. I only found out for sure that the money generated is changed into beer and wine as quickly as possible.
On Shrove Tuesday, when this custom is practiced, it snowed in big wet flakes. They danced and sang on the "Hauptstrasse"( the main street) and a good time was had by all.
