Well, I read the CBC report on Rob Ford's alleged use of un-mayor-like language and I wrote a little comment about it. Then I read some more about it and things no longer seemed as clear. I therefore deleted my entry on the principle that "If you remain silent, you may be thought a fool, but if you open your mouth and talk nonsense you will remove all doubt."
Would anybody clear this up for me?
But before that: Hand me a ballot with a hanging ..... (what were they called? Chad??? )

From what I heard last night on the news he was accosted by a CBC comedy show troop - one that has button holed many interesting political figure including Prime Ministers and Prince Phillip; most of the time very funny stuff. This time, they came to his home and he over reacted, called 911 and didn't get a response. He called back two more times and got pretty mad at the operator and swore at her. The fact that he overreacted is secondary to the question of why did he have to call back two more times. While he admits to using some colourful language on the phone (who wouldn't on the third call anyway) it is curious how the CBC would know exactly what he said since the tape of the calls has not been released and won't be unless Mr. Ford says it can. The CBC can not be trusted thus far as it was their own TV show staff that were at the heart of the problem and they have no way of really knowing what was said in the call. However, Mr. Ford is a crass man so it is easy to believe what the CBC is accusing him of. He will have to have the tape released in order for the matter to be cleared up. That likely won't happen because it will undoubtedly prove what we all already know about him. I hate him frankly, he is trying to shut down the Riverdale Farm and other city parks so his ruination will be my delight. Fingers crossed.
