Drive along the "Going to the Sun Road"
and you come to St.Mary Lake, in Montana,
close to the border of Alberta.
The mountains beyond and the little island in the middle
of the lake are reflected beautifully in the still water of the Lake.
A Telephoto lense brings the reflections closer.
and the wide angle lense (below) shows the whole panorama
Surely one of the most beautiful sceneries anywhere.
These images were taken in 1980 or 82 when Hugo and Herwig came to America. We flew from Toronto to Edmonton, where Peter Pocklington loaned us a large station wagon and with tent and good spirits we continued from Edmonton to Banff and from there South, along the Rockies as far as finally Las Vegas. On the return trip we came upon Mary Lake where these images were taken. I will roam my library from this trip and I'm sure I'll find some other intersting images.
Wow - those are beautiful - I don't recall these shots at all.
ReplyDeleteyou must, absolutely MUST look at them in the largest format possible.
